Ministries
We know that effective service in the body of Christ flows from a proper heart posture. We can’t serve well until we love Jesus well and see Him rightly. Effective “Martha” ministry flows from a “Mary” posture (Luke 10:38-42). When that is firmly in place, our ministry flows from it, it is effective, and it is rooted in proper motives.
❋ PrayerfulMinistries are birthed out of prayer. As we seek the Lord and He speaks to us, we are led by His Spirit to begin ministry that He wants to do!
❋ IntentionalWe don’t want to simply have programs; we desire that whatever ministries we steward are the result of God’s desire, His leading, and the needs of the body and community.
❋ SimpleOur hope is keep ministry centered on Jesus and His instructions. We utilize available resources, but we seek to depend on Him rather than the resources.
❋ Godly LeadersWe are sometimes slow in beginning a ministry for several reasons. One may be that God hasn’t led us to start a certain ministry yet, but it may be also that God has not yet raised up a leader. Each leader must have an abiding relationship with Christ, be rooted in the secret place with Him, and come with the right motives. Skills are important, but integrity and spiritual maturity are more important.
